VW chooses first US electric car plant

Volkswagen has selected its first US plant for the production of electric cars, writes Brian Byrne.

A €700m investment in Chattanooga, Tennessee, will see the first electric SUV from the company, the ID Crozz, roll out in 2020.

It is one of eight plants for electric cars which VW is developing in Europe, the US and China, with a capacity to sell more than a million electric cars globally by 2025.
